The Peterborough
Community Legal Centre provides summary legal advice, referral,
brief services, and representation.
Summary
advice means that the Legal Centre staff would provide
you with information about your legal problem.
Referral
means that if we do not deal with your specific problem, we would
try to direct you to someone who can help you.
Brief
services are when the staff of the Legal Centre provide
you with a service such as Commissioning or Notarizing. Because
of limited staff resources, we only provide these services in some
areas. You can call the Legal Centre to find out if we can
help you.
Representation
is when a lawyer or community legal worker agrees to represent you
regarding a specific legal problem you are facing.
The Legal Centre
focuses on housing and social assistance matters. We do NOT
practice family or criminal law.
